Produced every four weeks, the Retail Tracker Report provides insight into category dollar sales, segment and variety sales, average price per pound, and other helpful metrics.

  • October fresh mushroom sales were impacted by severe disruption in the Southeast due to hurricanes Milton and Helene that left millions of people without power for days.
  • Consumer sentiment improved in October and early November, including greater optimism in current day sentiment and future expectations for the economy and personal finances.
  • Fresh mushroom dollar sales reached $122 million in the quad-week period, down 1.6% year-over-year.
  • Sales did grow in comparison to the prior four weeks by 1.3%. The next eight weeks are typically the biggest of the year.
  • Crimini outperformed white mushrooms in dollars, units and pounds, but only specialty mushrooms grew year-over-year.
  • The Council is working with Circana to recode UPCs currently captured under ‘all other’ to create new segments for mixed packs as well as beech, lion’s mane, trumpet and other specialty varieties.
