Mushrooms in the News: 08-04-17

This week, The Blend makes the cover of one of the nation’s top healthy eating publications. Weight Watchers Magazine featured a blended burger on its July/August issue, calling out mushrooms as the burger’s secret ingredient.

Additionally, Forbes listed “Blended Burgers” as the year’s top “food buzzword.”: “Along with the rise of the vegetarian movement, restaurants too are now blending beef with about 25% ground mushrooms. The result is pure deliciousness, as the mushrooms boost the burgers’ umami flavor and juiciness and add an eco-friendly appeal.”

In advance of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally next week, Perishable News, Produce News and The Packer announced that the Mushroom Council will be serving up blended burgers to hungry bikers.
