Mushrooms in the News: 10-06-17

This week, we’re seeing a range of coverage by trades, college newspapers and top consumer websites. Highlights include:

• The Produce News highlighted the growing demand for mushrooms in retail, thanks in part to The Blend.
• College publications at UCLA, University of Montana and University of Alaska Fairbanks announced that blended burgers are available in their campus dining halls.
• Huffington Post featured a beautiful Mushroom Breakfast Pizza.

On Oct. 1, we launched our Team #Blenditarian social campaign to encourage pledges in conjunction with football season. Fans can visit blenditarian.com/TeamBlenditarian to “join the team” (and recruit others, too!) to be entered to win game day prizes. Since the launch, we’ve seen a flurry of social buzz using the #blenditarian hashtag, as well as many new pledges.

Finally, on Oct. 5, Albertsons/Safeway registered dietitian Molly Tevis hosted a 7-minute Facebook Live video to demo 50/50 “Mini Umami Burgers.”
