Mushrooms in the News: 06-17-2020
The Washington Post provided tips and tricks on making your favorite comfort foods healthier. For meatloaf, the article suggests “replacing half the meat with chopped, sautéed mushrooms.” Blending can “help stretch your meat, add fiber, vitamins and minerals while reducing the dish’s overall fat content.”
Mushroom and Beef Blended Burgers made it onto Food Network’s grilling recipe roundup for Father’s Day. “Mushroom blended burgers are not only a more eco-friendly choice,” explained the reporter, who had attended the most recent Blended Burger Project winners’ celebration, “but with the right mix of mushroom and veggies, can be a super-flavorful alternative to the typical 100% beef patty.”
