Mushrooms in the News: 07-25-2022

U.S. News took a look at rising food prices and offered tips for extending grocery budgets – with mushrooms among its recommendations, with one R.D. noting: “I love creating a mushroom meat blend by cooking together one pound of finely chopped mushrooms with one pound of ground meat. Not only does this bulk up those more expensive ingredients, it also provides extra nutrients like B vitamins, vitamin D and potassium without adding extra calories or fat.”

Mushrooms continued showing up as a key ingredient among many top-tier outlet recipes over the past week. From Michael Symon’s Marsala and Mushroom Pasta Bake on Food Network, to Eating Well sharing their recipe for Linguine with Mushroom Sauce, with Bon Appetit featuring their take on Kolbi-Style Steak and Mushroom Lettuce Wraps. Delish showcased mushrooms 101 for air fryers. 

On the partnership front, one chef leveraged his entry into the Food Network Blended Burger Contest to earn coverage, while Mashed profiled Food Network chef Kardea Brown, noting her role in showcasing the contest and blending.
